Does he like to be read to? Sometimes I let my students read a book I have on the topic instead of reading it on the computer. Yesterday, one of the kids was going to do level 3 Social studies on Vikings and I let him read instead from the Usborne World history book. He just finished his reader last week, so I gave him a historical fiction book about Vikings to read.
If it were me, I would just do LA and math since it is the end of the year. But maybe you school year round?
