What do you teach your children about science? There are many opinions about how to teach science.
Should you teach creationism? Should you spend time homeschooling evolution? Should you go with straight, hardcore science? There are many choices and I can’t tell you which choice is right for your family. What I can do is tell you what we plan in our homeschool for science education.
My daughter spends a lot of time learning about science. Science is her favorite subject and we have decided (yes, she had a lot of input on this) that many of her high school electives will be science courses. I have decided that she will be exposed to as many different forms of science as possible, from as many different viewpoints as possible.
To provide her with as much science as possible I am going to have to out-source some of that education. I am looking at co-op classes, online classes as well as our online curriculum, self-taught textbook inspired courses, and tutors. While I wish I could teach all sciences, I know that I am going to need some help.
How do you plan to teach science? Will you out-source? Will you send them to classes? I would love to hear how you plan to teach science to your homeschool students!!
